Common Dental Services For Complex Dentistry

In some cases multiple procedures such as Implants, Crowns & Bridgework, Veneers, Full Mouth Rehabilitation, Orthodontics, and Periodontal Disease can be required to treat one patient. Such complex treatment often requires the services of multiple practitioners and sometimes external specialists to achieve desired outcomes.

01.

Dental crowns

are like a cover that fits neatly over your tooth to protect it. They can be made of composite resin, porcelain, zirconia or metal. You may need a crown if your tooth has had a root treatment, a crack or is damaged. Sometimes teeth don’t form properly in infancy. Our dentists can discuss the procedure for a crown with you and tailor the process to your individual requirements.

02.

Dental bridges

are just like an ordinary bridge – they span a gap. If you have a missing tooth, it can be an option to place a bridge. Depending on the size of the gap, bridges have a crown on the teeth on either side of the gap and a “false” tooth that sits in the gap. The crowns and false tooth are joined together and placed in your mouth as one unit.

03.

Dental implants

are another option to fill a gap. An implant is placed in the bone where a tooth is missing. When the implant is firmly integrated, a crown is attached to the implant. The gap is now filled with a tooth that looks like it has always been there. Implants can also be used to support a denture, which makes the denture much more stable and comfortable.

04.

Occlusal splints

help to protect your teeth and jaw joints, especially while you are asleep. Night time is often when you clench or grind your teeth and you are unaware of doing it. You may wake up with tender teeth or jaw muscles or even a headache. An occlusal splint will fit neatly over the biting surfaces of your upper teeth to balance the contact with your lower teeth. They are also used to protect complex restorations.
